Winter League Rules

Please note the revised format for 2025

The Winter League will be played over 7 consecutive weekends, commencing on the 18th/19th January, excluding February Bank Holiday weekend, until the 1st/2nd March with the final being played on either Saturday or Sunday 8th/9th March.
There will be 3 weekends of singles & 3 weekends of fourballs. played over 6 weekends. The format each weekend will alternate between singles and fourballs starting with singles on the weekend of 18th/19th January. All the singles and fourball competitions will be over 12 holes

Singles:
The best singles score recorded by each team member over the course of the 6 weekends will count towards the team score. So each player will have potentially 6 attempts to record their best score to go towards the overall team score.

Fourballs:
The best 2 fourball scores recorded by each team, again over the course of the 6 weeks, will count towards the team score. A fourball pairing may only count once in each of the teams fourball scores. but an individual may be counted twice if in a different pairing.

The total stableford points for each team will be added together to get a team’s total singles stableford points and separately a team’s total fourball points.  A points system will be put in place to determine final day position in each category.
i.e. If 10 teams enter, 1st placed singles team will get 10 points 2nd will get 9 and so on. A similar calculation will be done to calculate the fourball placings of each team. In the event of ties a count back system will be operated, based on the best score basis.

The final day will be a team of 4, with the best card from each team counted and teams allocated points based on a calculation similar to that used above. The total number of points over entire series will determine the final placings.
